A difficult job

White hair combed back, tweed trousers, black dress coat and ribbon bow
tie. Immaculate - a proper Edwardian gentleman in all but manners.
Straightening his celery, the Doctor murmured: “I'm getting too old for
this.”
He greeted his ancient younger self.
“What do you want, young man?” he replied in the usual patronising
tone.
“It's complicated.”
“Mhmm? Speak up, boy!” the Doctor interrupted.
He explained about the Daleks, about saving Gallifrey. But the Doctor bore
his uninterested, condescending expression.
“What nonsense, my child.”
Well, he did his best. Maybe the blustering colourful man will shock the last of them into listening.
