Eavesdropping Goes Wrong

"Merlin, what did you do this time?!" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed when she saw them. "Quickly, come on in!"
"We were studying," said James and squealed in pain, when Madam Pomfrey tucked on his ear that was somehow melted together with Sirius's.
"The spell went wrong," added Sirius.
"Yeah, it wasn't our fault," said Peter and Remus nodded.
"Let me mix some belladonna with slug juice. I will separate all of you. But your ears are going to look like this for a few weeks," she said. "At least you'll remember not to steal forbidden spells and then lie about it."
